North Garnett Elementary Minister

JOB TITLE: Elementary Minister / North Garnett Campus
JOB TYPE: Salaried Employee
REPORTS TO: Lead Elementary Minister & Next Gen Team Lead
PURPOSE STATEMENT: This person has a passion for Jesus Christ and First Church. They are enthusiastically focused on First Church’s mission to make disciples that will fulfill the mission and vision. They are a proven team player who possesses a positive attitude and can excel in a fast-paced, energetic team environment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Work alongside Lead Elementary Minister with the leadership of the elementary ministry at First Church. 
  2. Recruit, lead and train volunteers for the First Kids ministry.
  3. Effective communication through various platforms: stage, print, email, marketing, phone, etc.
  4. Creatively craft environments, events and programs that are appealing to un-churched and de-churched families.

  2. Agrees with First Church doctrine and values. 
  3. A mature, growing believer with a clear understanding of the Gospel.
  4. Abide by the First Church Policies and Procedures Handbook.
  5. Committed to the 10 Commandments of First Church Staff Culture.
  6. Contributes to the staff team spirit through fellowship, encouragement, cooperation and prayer.
  7. Regularly attends a weekend service at First Church.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Possess at minimum a bachelor degree in children’s ministry or related field.
  2. Possess a passion for ministering to elementary students and their parents.
  3. Possess effective communication skills.
  4. Possess leadership skills, including the ability to recruit, vet, train, and manage volunteer teams.
  5. Ability to steward people, financial, and material resources toward ministry goals.
  6. Committed to our community and culture.
  7. Can both lead and thrive in a team-based environment.
  8. Can manage multiple priorities.

Work Schedule:  Ministry is not, and should not, be a “9 to 5 office position.” This position requires flexibility in schedule and a commitment to be available to staff during the day and available during the evening at times. Obviously boundaries are encouraged and required, for personal and family health.  The staff of First Church is committed to team ministry that pursues excellence with an attitude of “whatever it takes to get the job done.” Therefore, additional time may be required outside of regular hours and normal schedules.
