Welcome to First Kids

At First Church, we strive to be people who Love Jesus and Love Like Jesus. Through our First Kids ministry, elementary kids learn how to do just that. We train kids to "Love Jesus" by encouraging them to love God's Word. Through prayer, kids learn to love God's heart. Kids begin to "Love Like Jesus" by loving people within the church. We also equip kids with lessons on how to love God's world--the 918 and beyond.

FIRST KIDS CITY ONLINE

The fun isn't limited to Sunday mornings! Be sure to check out our YouTube channel. Kids can tune into game time, worship with us and get a refresher on what we've been learning. Even if your family was at First Church on Sunday, kids won't want to miss First Kids City Online!

Midweek EXPERIENCE

We train kids to Love Jesus and Love Like Jesus. To "Love Like Jesus," we believe it's essential for kids to be part of a Christ-centered community. At MidWeek, kids can be part of a small group every Wednesday night during the school year. Kids can study God's Word, pray, and hold each other accountable in their small groups. Kids experience live teaching at MidWeek, and they receive a homework page every week. This resource is a Bible study tool to encourage them to love God's Word at home.

Common questions asked by visiting families:

Who will care for my child?

First Kids leaders have been strategically placed by an application and background check process. Our leaders have a heart for children and are excited about investing in the next generation.

How do I check my child in/out?

During our expansion, the best entrance for families with elementary kids is located on the back (or NW) side of the building. Soon after entering through the glass doors, you will find First-Time Guest Check-In located on the left. Our Guest Services team members will greet you, guide you through the registration process, and personally escort you to our First Kids Drop-Off Room. We are committed to making your child’s time with us safe and meaningful.
  • Upon check-in, your child is given a numbered security nametag. This nametag is placed on the front of your child’s shirt. This matches a security tag you are given. If we need to call you out of service, your security number will be displayed in the Main Worship Center.
  • At pick-up time, present your child’s matching security tag to the leader at the classroom door. For safety reasons, we ask that you drop off and pick up your child outside the door of the classroom.

What should my child expect on Sunday morning?

Your child can expect a friendly welcome, an interactive time with peers including group “Game Time," an exciting time of worship, communion, a video lesson made just for them and break out groups that allow for discussion of the day’s lesson. The First Kids ministry is active during the 8:15, 9:45, and 11:15AM services. Drop-off begins 15 minutes before services start.

What should my child expect at Midweek?

Wednesday’s First Kids program includes check-in and activities as well as an extended time for small group learning. Small group leaders help the kids dive deeper into their Bible studies and encourage prayer. The MidWeek gathering time is an impactful addition to Sunday’s experience. MidWeek begins at 6:30 with drop off starting at 6:15PM. MidWeek is held during the school year. During the summer months, First Church offers an array of camps and events called, "Summer Life."
