Love 918 is a movement of people who are passionate about making an impact on the world. The movement was started in 2011 by people who wanted to make a difference in the community around them and it is driven by the words of Psalm 9:18, “But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.”
Over the years, Love 918 has charged the people of First Church to continually love our community through organized Love 918 events and organic opportunities. Now, Love 918 is on a mission to reach beyond the 918 area code.

A vision for an all-purpose truck has been part of the Love 918 strategy since 2013. The Love 918 truck is a vehicle that can be used to offer a variety of free services to the local community.

Meeting a short term need such as passing out water at a local 5k, passing out popsicles at your neighborhood park, trimming trees, helping neighbors move, delivering donated appliances, etc. If you know a way to serve the people in your space, this truck and the resources of LOVE918 and First Church can help you accomplish it.

Connecting with the people in your community. Connecting with neighbors on your block can be a very difficult and awkward task. However, a relationship starts the second you engage a neighbor at an organized Love 918 event or a “Do-It-Yourself” organic event.

We are called to help those around us; "But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish." Psalms 9:18. Jesus came to restore hope and LOVE918 is a vehicle He chose to use. How will you love the 918?

Junior High Students of First Church show love to the 918 during Jr. High Serve, an annual Spring Break outreach projects week. The dates for 2025 are Mar. 17-20. Not only is this a great way for students to love like Jesus in our community, but they find that it's a fun and fulfilling way to spend the time off of school. Students should be registered by Mar. 3, 2025 to be part of this difference-making team! 

The mission of First Church is to love Jesus and love like Jesus, and that doesn’t stop here in the 918. We do our very best to take the gospel past state lines, and beyond national borders.
